Pre-Long-Weekend Quickie Aside: New JLU Figures
These have hit the web over the last 48 hours, but in case you haven’t seen them, take a look….
In order:
- Spoilerman… er, Superman, complete with mature Starro parasite, from “The Call“
- A Barry Allen-style Flash (the belt is horizontal, rather than two diagonal bolts merging, which is sually a sign that it’s Barry). This is the only figure of the five that doesn’t have an in-universe equivalent, but Barry does show up in JLU Season 3.
- Power Ring. While a true “evil John” never appeared in animated form, my guess is that this is based off the original character model for Power Ring from Crisis on Two Earths, when that was set to star the DCAU GL and not Hal Jordan.
- Batman Beyond. No explanation needed, aside from saying that it’s a bit closer to the animated model than the usual figures.
- EDIT – an e-mailer pointed out to me that it’s possible this is an Epilogue-era Terry, which would be pretty cool if true.
- Mr. Terrific, complete with T-Spheres (which barely appeared in JLU, but he had a significant role as J’onn’s successor in mission control).
Between that and the core JLA finally being completed in DCUC scale with the announcement of J’onn, it was a good announcement.

These look kind of ridclous, I mean look how buff they made Batman Beyond.
That’s because of their efforts to save costs – the figures are basically all the same body with a different head. There’s no real “skinny” body to use for Terry – and he looks more on-model than his DCUC figure did.
